Welcome to Manaus! Upon arrival to the airport you’ll be met by our English-speaking guide and transferred to the hotel (car & boat). You’ll enjoy a wonderful dinner at the lodge.

You’ll get the day to enjoy several different activities in the Amazon:

 

- Nature hike: an unforgettable hike through the rainforest learning all about the local flora and fauna from an experienced local guide, marveling at the immense biodiversity and unique species

- Monkey forest: the lodge has a restricted area where wild animals come and go. There is a fixed feeding schedule under supervision of a biologist or staff member, and visitors can enjoy seeing the animals in a natural and safe environment. 

- Visit to the native’s house: a short canoe/boat ride from the lodge, you can visit a local family and learn about the culture and historical traditions of the Amazonians. 

- Fishing tour: during this activity on the river, you’ll get to fish different species following the advice of an experienced guide, including perhaps the elusive piranhas. 

- Night tour in canoe: a canoe ride along the river with the possibility of spotting caiman and other exciting animals while the night sounds of the rainforest come alive.

 

The order of the different activities can be coordinated at the lodge.

TOUR TO THE “MEETING OF THE WATERS” 

 

We’ll leave the lodge at 08:30 for and exciting visit the “meeting of the waters”. Navigating down the Negro River, the boat goes along the shore of the city of Manaus, allowing passengers to see the Amazonas Theater, the Port of Manaus and Customs building, as well as interesting aspects of local life. After a couple of hours, we’ll reach the spectacular view of the merging of Rivers Negro and Solimões – this is the point where the imposing Amazon River is formed, running all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. Both rivers run side by side for about 12 km without mixing due to differences in temperature, density and speed – an incredible sight.  

The trip then continues on the Amazon River to the Island of “Terra Nova”, where a buffet lunch will be served in a typical Amazonian restaurant. 

Depending on the level of the waters, we’ll get to visit a typical "caboclo" (local inhabitants) village at Terra Nova island (the village is usually flooded between the months of May and August).

 

Overnight in ecolodge in Manaus

At a proper time, you’ll be transferred from the lodge to Manaus airport (car & boat). 

(Transfer is included for check out until 10.30 am).
