The Argentine and Chilean Patagonia - Chile, Argentina


Day 1: Buenos Aires

Get to know Buenos Aires and its main landmarks, from the historic city center to the hospitable streets of the neighborhoods of San Telmo and La Boca. You will also pass through elegant Barrio Norte on the way to famous Recoleta Cemetery. You end the visit in the upscale quarter of Palermo to see its magnificent mansions and parks.

Day 2: Ushuaia

Day 3: Half day excursion to the park - sail through Beagle Channel

The excursion begins with a trip to the Tierra del Fuego National Park, where your first stop is Ensenada Bay. From there, you will hike past Lake Roca and Lapataia Bay. After a few hours, you will return to Ushuaia and make your way to the bay and Beagle Channel to catch a different view of the southernmost city in the world. The journey continues to Les Eclaireurs lighthouse and, during the return, a side trip to Lobos Island, where you will see a colony of sea lions, odd looking mammals, and to Despard Island, a natural habitat for imperial shags. Make the most of this experience and be part of the southern landscapes that surround you.

Day 4: Tuesday

Day 5: Calafate

You will depart El Calafate, Capital of the Glaciers, and head off toward the Perito Moreno Glacier. During the adventure, you will stop at the "Curva de los Suspiros" (literally, the curve of sighs), where you will catch your first panoramic glimpse of the glacier. The path continues on platforms with lookouts that are placed to give you optimum viewing of this wonder of nature.

Full day excursion: Upsala and sailing in Onelli Bay
You will sail through the entire North Channel of Lake Argentino, navigating around huge glaciers until arriving at Upsala Glacier. Afterwards, you will disembark on the shores of Onelli Bay and hike through a lenga tree forest towards Lake Onelli, which is the spot where three glaciers intersect: Onelli, Bolados, and Agassiz. A few hours later, you will continue sailing through the Spegazzini and Heim Sur channels on the way to your final destinations: the Spegazzini and Heim Sur glaciers.

Day 7: Cerro Castillo-Puerto Natales

Transfer from El Calafate to Cerro Castillo and then on to Puerto Natales.

Day 8: Torres del Paine National Park

The scheduled activity today is an excursion to the Torres del Paine National Park, which is practically mandatory when you visit the Patagonia. You will visit the most important parts of the park, stopping at Milodon Cave and Lake Amarga, which affords you excellent views of the Paine Mountains and Lake Pehoe. You will also walk past Salto Grande Falls and see massive icebergs from Grey Glacier.

Day 9: Puerto Natales

Leaving Puerto Natales, you will head towards the region called Ultima Esperanza and marvel at a spectacular scene of bays, mountains, and waterfalls. You then shift directions and go to the base of Mount Balmaceda, disembarking at the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park and hiking a short distance to the Perales Ranch for a delicious lunch. You will return to Puerto Natales that afternoon by boat.

Day 10: City tour - Puerto Montt, Puerto Varas and visit to the Angelmo fish market

Upon arrival in Puerto Montt, your first activity is to visit its lookout and gaze in wonder at the beauty of the bay in front of you and, in the distance, two volcanoes: mounts Osorno and Calbuco. Afterward enjoying this spectacle, it's off to explore the downtown area and then to the port district of Angelmo, a major tourist attraction where you can purchase some handicrafts. The final destination is Puerto Varas, a frigid town, but hospitable, founded by German immigrants on the shores of the bay.

Day 11: Peulla Island

You will set off today to Peulla Island, a lovely bit of land rising out of the waters of Lake Todos los Santos. If the weather permits, you can see Mount Osorno, a volcano, Mount Puntiaguado, and Mount Tronador. Once you arrive at Peulla, you will visit the ecological village, a paradise for naturalists. You will start the return trip to Puerto Varas after a couple hours on the island.

Day 12: Wednesday

Day 13: Thursday

At the scheduled time, you will be transferred to the airport for your departing international flight.
