After breakfast, the group will leave the hotel and travel to Mullak’as-Misminay community. When the group arrives they will be welcomed by the local hosts, women and men who work in farming and tourism. The group will be received with dancing, live music and a flower necklace. Then the local hosts will bring the group to the visitor center. There the group will drink a hot herb tea, while we explain how to do the volunteer work. In the visitor center the volunteers will meet the local families. Groups of 2 or 3 volunteers will follow each family to their houses.
The expert will support the groups during all activities to supervise the good work. All the materials and tools will already be in the community houses. Together, the group and the family will install the water ducts in the roof and install the tube from the roof to the tank. It sounds very easy, but the process takes from 3 or 4 hours. The volunteers will help the family not only with installing the water ducts and the tank; they also give a donation, bringing the families the opportunity to take advantage from the rain water.
After finishing with the hard work, the family will offer you a very delicious local lunch. If you still have energy after lunch, we recommend a small trekking to the natural viewpoint. It provides a natural balcony where you can observe a splendid landscape of a spectacular archeological center with snowcapped mountains that surround the Sacred Valley. This astonishing view leaves a lasting impression on all those who have the privilege of seeing it. And for those who prefer to stay, they can have a stroll around the community, because they have also a very beautiful landscape from there.
It will be a very fulfilling experience! You will have the opportunity to help families to have access to drinkable and healthy water. Many people have access to clean water for drink and shower, but after this important work the water will have an important value in your lives! Plus, you will be enjoying nature with wonderful landscapes.
