Today, you will embark on a sightseeing trip through the city's historic center, stopping by its main landmarks and discovering several examples of its colonial past as well as the natural beauty that forms their backdrop. Sites include the City Hall, Cathedral, San Francisco Church, San Bernardo Convent, San Bernardo Hill, National University, Vaqueros River, Castellanos Valley, Lesser, San Lorenzo, and the handicraft market.

Today, you will visit the Humahuaca Gorge, a natural wonder flanked on either side by mountain ranges, carved expansively by the Grande River, and inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. You will see its landscape of little towns that keep their traditions alive by knitting together ancient history and customs. The excursion encompasses sub-Andean valleys and the towns of San Salvador de Jujuy, Leon, and Yala before you arrive at the gateway of the gorge, and once through, you will visit other small towns. You will finally end up in historic Humahuaca and make stops at its church and city building.
Cafayate is doubtlessly the most important city in Salta Province and wine production its claim to fame. You will tour the city of Salta today and then head off towards Cafayate, delighting in the constant changes and contrasting colors of the route, until you arrive at your destination, a town located in the Calchaquies Valley. Once there, you will tour a winery. On the journey back to Salta, you will wonder at the sight of the valley at sundown and make a stop at the Posta de las Cabras, a typical inn that features a variety of dairy goats and that sells different cheeses and wines.
Today is a free day. At the scheduled time, you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight.
