Half Day City tour Cusco by foot
Cusco
Detailed itinerary
This charming half-day walking tour of Cusco offers us history, culture, and art. We will begin the tour in the Plaza de Armas where we will see the colonial architecture that remains intact to this day, but its history is much older. If we look carefully, we|ll notice that the foundations of many of the buildings are the walls built by the Incas. Also located in the square, we will visit the Cathedral, the most important temple in the entire city. It was built by the Spanish on top of the palace of the Inca Huiracoha. Its interior houses a wonderful collection of colonial art composed of goldsmith pieces and representative canvases of the Cusco School. On foot we will reach Koricancha, which during the Inca empire was a center of worship to the Sun and on which the Santo Domingo convent was later built as part of the evangelization process. Its baroque style façade built on solid Inca walls perfectly summarizes the syncretism of cultures in the city of Cusco. Walking through the narrow and steep streets of San Blas, the bohemian neighborhood, we will find beautiful craft workshops. The right place to shop and feel like we|re getting to take a piece of this magical city with us!
