Day 1: Santiago

Transfer from Santiago airport to hotel.

Day 2: Santiago

HALF DAY PANORAMIC SANTIAGO CITY TOUR AND SAN CRISTOBAL HILL (PVT)

Santiago de Chile was founded in 1541 by the Spanish Conqueror Pedro de Valdivia and much of the core layout, that was designed by the master builder Pedro de Gamboa, remains to this day. During the half day city tour you will visit key locations, where the rich history of the city played out. The city of Santiago is the perfect blend between the old colonial style and modern architecture, characteristics that make this city one of the most interesting in South America. The tour begins with a visit to the San Cristobal Hill, rising at 880 mts / 2640 ft over the city –the second highest natural point in Santiago- where you are offered panoramic views of the city. Then, you will travel to the heart of the city and the Plaza de Armas, a spot from where the city has grown throughout centuries. Visit some of the most important buildings in the city such as the Cathedral, the City Council, the Central Post Office and the National History Museum. You will also visit some of the original colonial neighborhoods such as Concha y Toro Square. This neighborhood is characterized by its cobbled streets and old mansions that reflect the elegance and richness of the early twentieth century. Many Chileans achieved great wealth, including Enrique Concha y Toro founder of the famed winery. Then, it’s onto the Eastern part of the city and the more modern side of Santiago.

Day 3 : Santiago, Calama, San Pedro de Atacama

AFTERNOON HALF DAY MOON VALLEY & DEATH VALLEY WITH COCKTAIL INCLUDED

In the afternoon you will experience one of the most expected moments of the day: the sunset at the best place to appreciate it, the Cordillera de la Sal. This is where you will find its Moon and Death Valleys, which are formations of salt and clay, product of the mineralogical folding occurred millions of years ago. This phenomenon originated small mountains of capricious and sculptural forms that, during sunset, resemble a moon landscape. To celebrate this natural spectacle, cocktails and wine tasting will be offered.

Day 4: San Pedro de Atacama

EXCURSION TO TATIO GEYSERS & MACHUCA VILLAGE WITH BREAKFAST INCLUDED (PVT)

Your tour will start very early in order to visit the the Tatio Geysers geothermal field, located at 4,300 masl. The steam fumaroles, that reach up to 50 meters in height, are mixed with the imposing beauty of the Andes, multiple colors and varied fauna, among which you will find the Vicuña -an American camelid with elegant walk and adapted to live on extreme weather and geographical conditions. Here you will enjoy a delicious breakfast prepared at the Geysers. As you return, you will visit the village of Machuca, an ancient village with adobe houses, straw and cactus wood. Today it is dedicated to tourism, offering Andean local products such as handicrafts, llama meat, ”sopaipillas” and “empanadas”. You will also visit the church of Saint Santiago, patron of the town, to admire its ancient architecture.

HALF DAY TOCONAO & ATACAMA SALT FLAT (PVT)

Your day will begin with a tour on the vast plain area, allowing you to reach the “Gran Salar de Atacama”, a white and rough surface where shallow lagoons are home to a large number of flamingos that choose this water as a nesting place, allowing you to observe these wonderful birds. Geological studies consider this salt flat as the most important lithium reserve on the planet, requiring it on a 40% level. Under weak water furrows, small villages are born. One of the most picturesque of these towns is Toconao, where you can appreciate original architecture made of Liparita stone, which highlights the style of the ancient church. It is a town that will motivate you to walk the streets and meet the local people, who dedicate their days to making handicrafts in fine wool. You can also buy a souvenir if you wish.

Day 5: San Pedro De Atacama, Hito Cajon (Border Bolivia –Chile),

Transfer to hotel in San Pedro to Hito Cajon (Bolivia-Chile border).

You will be picked up at the Bolivian border of Hito Cajon to enter the REA Reserve. You will visit the Green Lagoon in the foothills of Licancabur Mountain, the high desert in Pampas de Dali, Chalviri Lagoon and the hot springs of Polques and Sol de Mañana geysers. Then you will stop by the Red Lagoon, declared a RAMSAR site due to the nesting of over 30,000 Andean flamingos. Finally, you will reach Villamar.

Day 6: Villamar – Uyuni

Continue across Valle de las Rocas (Rock Valley), a famous rock formation due to the wind erosion. Go through the villages of Alota and Culpina K, as well as the colonial church of San Cristobal (that has been moved from its original location), to finally reach Uyuni village.

Day 7: Uyuni salt flat (Full day) – Colchani

You will head to the Uyuni Salt Flats, with a short stop at the Train Cemetery. Continue to the Incahuasi Island (better known as Fish Island), an oasis with a unique and isolated ecosystem that is populated by giant cacti up to 10 meters high. Continue the journey travelling North to visit the pre-Columbian Pucara de Ayque fort and the nearby chullpares on the foothills of the Thunupa volcano, then east to Uyuni village.

Day 8: Uyuni – La Paz – Lake Titicaca

Transfer to the Uyuni airport to take the flight back to La Paz.

You will be picked up from the airport to depart to Copacabana. It will be an enjoyable trip by private transportation, going north through the highlands, then along Titicaca Lake and parallel to the Andes Royal Range until you reach Copacabana, a pleasant town in the shores of the Lake. Visit its church and the famous "Virgen Morena". Take a trip by boat crossing the Lake to the Island of the Sun until Huacani, where you will have an Aptapi (typical lunch in the highlands). The trip continues by boat up to the ruins of the Pilkokaina Inca temple. Finally, hike to La Estancia with a wonderful view of Lake Titicaca.

Ecolodge La Estancia - Standard Cabin (Breakfast included)

An amazing spot located in the southern part of the Island of the Sun in Lake Titicaca. It was built preserving the Andean architecture and combining with the modern comfort, always respecting the harmony of the surrounding nature and habitat. The cabins were constructed with adobe brick and thatch roofs, and were set between pre-Inca terraces. They also use solar energy and recycle waste at all levels.

Day 9: La Chincana – Moon island – Copacabana – La Paz

You will have the chance of enjoying an early sunrise. Hike down through Yumani, visiting the Inca stairs and the Fountain of Eternal Youth. Then have a trip up North by boat to visit the Chincana ruins and the Sacred Rock. Continue by boat to the Island of the Moon and the Inca ruins of Iñak Uyu temple to finally reach Copacabana. A private transportation will take you to La Paz with very nice views of the Andes Royal Range.

Day 10: City Tour and Valley of the Moon (Half Day)

A 4 hour city tour through La Paz, elected as one of the 7 Wonder Cities in the World. It is located in a valley at the foothills of the Andes Range, situated at 3,632m / 11942 ft. above sea level. The tour goes through the street markets, rich in handicrafts, weavings and witchcraft items. You will follow this with a visit to the colonial section of the city, San Francisco Church, Gold Museum, Murillo Square and will also visit to the "Mirador de Killi Killi" viewpoint, as well as the outdoor replica of Tiwanaku temple. Then, descend to the more modern, southern part of La Paz to reach and visit the Valley of the Moon, where a clay mountain has been impressively shaped by erosion. Ride by cable car, known as “Teleférico”, it’s a good chance to enjoy an excellent and beautiful view of La Paz. This is a must for everyone!

Day 11: Transfer Hotel - Airport (Night)

Pick-up from hotel and transfer to the airport. Ascending to El Alto, there will be a nice view of La Paz and city light.
