Itinerary
You will be picked up at the airport and driven to Puerto Maldonado, capital of the department of Madre de Dios, a region christened Peru's Capital of Biodiversity, and one of the least explored areas in the Amazonian rainforest and home to more animal species than anywhere else on the planet. Here, just a few hours from the town of Puerto Infierno, you are going to have the time of your life fishing on the Tambopata River, the heart of the Tambopata Natural Reserve, one of Peru's most important protected areas. As with all fishing days, you will get a very early start, after eating a delicious breakfast.
You will have the entire day on the river, lunch and refreshing drinks included. During the morning hours, it's fishing for payara, a real fighter, large and strong even by Amazonian standards. In the afternoon, you will try your luck at pacus and zungaros (catfish). At night, it's back to the lodge for dinner and a well deserved night's rest.
After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will be driven back to the Puerto Maldonado airport for the return flight to Lima.
