The coast is this excursion's destination and, departing Santiago and following Chile Route 68 for 1.5 hours, you will enter the port of Valparaiso. You will first pass through the Curacavi Valley, filled with orchards, vineyards, fruit stands, and restaurants. Next is the Casablanca Valley, which is making noise as a wine producing region, its vineyard covered hills and plains a pleasant sight. Moving on, you arrive at either Valparaiso or Viña del Mar, where you will check into your hotel.
You are going to get to know Valparaiso from its hilltops. As you tour its lanes and terraces, you will become a witness of the history of this port city built in a marvelous natural amphitheater that hugs the bay. Its narrow, twisting streets ascend and descend the hillsides, revealing tiny snapshots at each nook and cranny worthy of remembering. You will have the chance to ride some of the old elevators that have made this charming city famous. Afterwards, the journey continues to the city of Viña del Mar, where you will stroll on its beaches and check out its sights.
