Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival to the city of Quito
You will be welcomed by our representatives at the airport and then taken to your hotel. Once there, you will receive a detailed explanation of the program, assitance with your luggage and hotel registration.
Day 2: Colonial Quito and the Intiñan Museum
During the morning, enjoy of a short journey towards the Northern part of the city, where you
will able to know the “latitude zero” of our planet and visit the Intiñan or “Road to the Sun” museum, that shows an incredible sample of pre-columbian and indigenous pieces of art and costumes. After this visit, enjoy a journey by the streets
and plazas of the historic centre of Quito, first city in the world to be
declared as Cultural Heritage of Humankind by UNESCO. A visit to the Church and
Convent of Saint Dominic are also part of this journey.
Day 3: Free day in Quito or optional excursions
Free day to discover the treasures of Quito or chose one of the excursions to
the destinations near to the city.
Option 1: Mindo, a
natural paradise
Discover one of the places with
the largest diversity of bird species in the world, at only 80 km from the Norwest of Quito, where you will find a reserve of 15000 acres of subtropics with incredible
beauty and calm. This region is also the habitat of approximately 2000 species of
plants. Return to Quito by the afternoon.
Option 2: Handicrafts and
markets of the North of the Andes
The eternally fertile province
of Imbabura is located at the North of the city of Quito, around 2530 meters
above sea level. It is a cradle of artists, surrounded by lakes, history and
pre-hispanic cultures. Visit Peguche, a small, messy and picturesque
town, famous for their skill to make handmade Andean color looms. Workshops
of art and sculpture in wood, stone and pottery that represent the Quito’s art
school can be found in the area.
Option 3) The Central
Andes and the Antisana Ecological ReserveThe Antisana Reserve, located one hour away from Quito to the East, is a sanctuary of wild life. This is a private ecological reserve, whose owners mission is the preservation of the native flora and fauna of the Andean
Moorland. The journey will take you at around 4000
meters above sea level, where moorland with its characteristic fauna can be
found. Return to Quito by the afternoon.
Day 4: Departure or connections
You will be assisted and transferred from the hotel to the airport to take your international flight or your connection to other destinations.
