ITINERARY
Day 1:
Lima
Arrive in Lima, welcome by English speaking guide and private transfer to the lovely Miraflores Park property.
14:30 HALF DAY - CITY TOUR: TOUR OF COLONIAL AND MODERN LIMA
You will visit the modern and colonial part of the city of Lima, known
as The City of Kings, starting with the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro
before heading to the Historic Center. Once there, you will visit the
impressive Convent of Santo Domingo, which will astonish you with its colonial
style. Then, you will walk to the Plaza de Armas, where you can take pictures
of the amazing colonial architecture that surrounds it. Upon leaving the
Historical Center, you will head towards Miraflores to make a stop at the
Parque del Amor, from where you can take beautiful photographs of the Peruvian
coast.

Day
2: Cusco
Delicious buffet breakfast with a lovely view of the Pacific Ocean.
At the scheduled time, you will be transferred from your selected hotel
to Lima airport

Arrive in Cusco, welcome by English speaking guide and private transfer to The Monasterio Belmond properties.
14:30 HALF DAY - CITY TOUR OF CUSCO / TOUR OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES NEAR
CUSCO (SIB)
You will visit the city of Cusco, also known as the Imperial City and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You will start your tour at the Koricancha Temple, an ancient Inca palace and cult centre of the Sun God, above which the order of the Dominicans built a church, which remains standing to this day. Then, you will visit the Plaza de Armas, where you will visit the Cathedral, the most important temple in the city. Continue ascending to the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, an impressive example of Inca military architecture. Afterwards, you will visit Qenqo, an archaeological site where the Sun, Moon and Stars were celebrated. Continue with a visit to Puca-Pucara, place that would have served as "Tambo" or resting place and lodging of the Inca. Finally, you will visit the art workshop Inka’s Expression, where you will appreciate a sample of the various uses of Peruvian natural products (plants, fruits, vegetables, among others) and will know their nutritional, healing and cosmetic properties. You will also have a chance to see the works made by members of the Misminay community.

Day
3: Sacred Valley

FULL DAY - LIVING THE AUTHENTIC SACRED VALLEY
You will head to Chinchero to visit the PARWA Center, where you can
appreciate beautiful textiles and even buy some to take home. After, visit the
Chinchero Church, which was built by the Spanish in 1607 and remains standing
until today. Continue with a visit to the ruins of Chinchero, where you will
find an important Inca centre in which terraces and aqueducts were built. Then,
you will stop at the Raqchi Viewpoint, from where you will have a panoramic
view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Afterwards, you will head towards the
town of Ollantaytambo, where you will find the imposing Inca fortress that
bears the same name. This place is of great historical importance because it
is where Manco Inca defeated the Spanish forces in 1538. Then, you will descend
to the town of Ollantaytambo which stands out for still maintaining the Inca
urban planning as part of his original urban layout, with some buildings and
narrow stone alleys. You can tour the town and visit the local market.

Day
4: Machu Picchu

MACHU PICCHU BY EXPEDITION TRAIN
A visit to one of the most important tourist destinations in the world:
Machu Picchu. The excursion starts with a train trip to the town of Aguas
Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. The natural beauty of the
surroundings makes the train the best way to start your visit. When you arrive,
you will start the ascent to the ruins, which will without a doubt be one of
your most unforgettable experiences. At Machu Picchu, you can see one of the
Seven Modern Wonders of the World and take some impressive photos. Then it is
back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch in a local restaurant. Finally, you
board the train for the return journey and transfer to your hotel.
At the scheduled time, you will be transferred from the Poroy station to
Cusco.

Day
5: Cusco Departure
Buffet breakfast.
Time to say goodbye and private transfer from Monasterio Belmond
properties to the airport to take your flight back to Lima
